New stuff...new card!

Hello and Happy Saturday! Today was a BEAUTIFUL day in NH! I spent some time on the porch enjoying the weather and then took a ride to the craft store to poke around and came home with some more DSP. Sooo...I just HAD to make something! I followed the Truly Scrumptious Sketch, but ignored the black, white and one other color plan! (Didn't work with my paper ;) ) I LOVE the colors of this card and since the paper had butterflies, I used an image with a butterfly as well. Since that butterfly was too small to cut out, I found a buttefly stamp in my stash that had never been used. I colored it and cut it out and adhered the center only so it would become 3 dimensional. I did a little of everything on this card. Hope you enjoy :) Tomorrow, I will be off to the lake for the day to continue working on my tan!

Pink, Yellow & Green

Hello again! I have been busy playing in the stamping corner and have another card that fits two challenges! I followed the Sketch and Stash sketch and the color challenge from Stamp Something. I started with the green base. I stitched some pink thread to join a pink floral K & Co paper with a green floral SU paper. I CB embossed the photo corners. I embellished with some flowers and snaps. I colored the Magnolia image with water color pencils. Thanks for checking it out!

Red White and Blue Challenge

Hello! Here is a card I whipped up for a challenge at Our Creative Corner. Their challenge was to use red, white and blue. So I used the image "Baseball Connor" from Whimsy Kids. I colored him with water color pencils and a water pen. I embellished with a few stars, a paper clip I found in the clearance aisle at Wally World, and a ribbon slide. Thanks for stopping by!

Two miscellaneous posts...

Here's a few more I made a while ago for different challenges but never finished them in time for the challenges :( The first is the cute penguin with a popsicle. I love this card for the "summer" theme--especially since it doesn't feel like summer! I used a blue base, some summer print paper, green square with orange "sun" paper, sand colored cardstock as the foreground and some ribbon. The sentiment is from a SU set.

The next card I have is a Whimsy Kids image "Connor on Bike." I used a layout from PTW (I have made several cards with this layout if you scroll down on my blog!) I colored Connor with markers and a water pen. I distressed the edges of the green oval he's mounted on. The sentiment is again from SU. I embellished with a silver eyelet and a green clip.

Finally, I have another Whimsy Kids "Baseball Connor." I made this one a long time ago...just never posted it! Love the image, but not crazy about the light coloring. I used pastel watercolor crayons from SU and a water pen. But I do love the image and card! Thanks for looking!

Christmas in July

Hello again...second post for the day! This is a card that fits Cute Card Thursday "Stitch in Time" and Stamp Something "Christmas in July." I was dying to use this adorable Imaginisce stamp from their Wild Things Collection. This hippo is soooo cute! I colored him with watercolor pencils and highlighting with a white paint pen. I stamped the Santa hat from a wooden Christmas stamp I had. I colored it and cut out both pieces. I embellished the hat with 3-D white glitter paint. I cut 4 squares from red and green cardstock, then 4 squares from patterned Christmas papers. I mounted each in the corners alternating the prints. I drew stitching with the white paint pen. I glued a Christmas button on one square, red one on the other and some flowers with button brads. I used a CB folder on the red piece that the hippo is on. I typed the sentiment on the computer and printed it on white cardstock. I cut it and mounted it on to the green. Then, I adhered it to the center of the card. Thanks again for stopping by!

New tools = Challenge participation!

Hello! I bought some new stuff so I decided to play! FINALLY, I have some good coloring tools! I decided to follow the sketch for Mojo Monday, Cute Card Thursday's challenge "Stitch in Time" and loosely followed a "recipe" on WOJ's challenge. I started with a bright yellow base. I layered a striped paper. I adhered an orange ribbon across the card. Then a strip of blue cardstock layered with a different patterned paper. A burnt orange cardstock with another patterned paper layered next. Next, I stamped the Whimsy Stamps Giraffe and colored him with water colored pencils in yellow, orange and brown and blended. I highlighted with a white paint pen. I stamped stitching with a CTMH stamp. I layered this image onto the same base yellow. I then stamped the SU sentiment "wish big" on white, edged in orange and mounted on the base yellow punched with the SU scalloped punch. I used the paint pen to draw stitching through the ribbon. Finally, I tied a piece of hemp twine through an orange button and glued to the bottom corner. Thanks for stopping by! I am sure I'll have new stuff later today...since it's raining. Again.
