Stamp Something "Charmed Somethings"

Happy Friday! Here is a fun card I made for the "charmed somethings," challenge on Stamp Something! This card was SO fun to put together! I found the image from Fred She Said. I altered the image a little. This cute fish is colored with watercolor pencils and blinged up with gold glitter glue. I used a "sand" colored DSP for the background, and then 2 summery print DSPs on the smaller sections. The pins are fish I picked up at this years CKC. I used gold brads and a starburst charm I found in my stash. The sentiment (pun!) is from my first trip to the CKC a LONG time ago! The flower is embellished with a button tied with twine. The crab is a Jolee's that I got in a grab bag. Thanks for looking :)

This card fits the following challenges:

Stamp Something: Charms (starburst, sentiment)
Creative Card Crew: Under the Sea

A Spoonful of Sugar: Floral
Stamptacular Sunday: Child's play (every kid has a goldfish)

High Hopes: Gold (brads, fish, eyelets)
Papertake Weekly: 4 Seasons (summer)

Altered

Hello and welcome back to my blog! I am having too much fun with my stamping lately! Today, I attempted something new. I am trying to use something NOT meant for my cardmaking and altering it to suit my needs. I found some tissue paper that a purchased item was wrapped in at the dollar store! I crumpled it more and "antiqued" it with brown ink and a sponge. Then, I punched photo corners out of gold dsp. I attached 3 flowers in layers with a brad. I used 3 gold brads on one corner. Pooh is a digital image I got from a free coloring sheet site (my trick for when I need an image!) I colored him with watercolor pencils. The sentiment is a sticker I found in my stash and stuck in a bookplate. Okay...this card fits the following challenges:

Everybody Art Challenge: Butterfly
Pile It On: 3 Flowers
Simon Says: Distress
High Hopes Challenge: Gold
Kaboodle Doodles: Digital Image
Stamptacular Sunday: Child's Play (Pooh is a children's character...stretch???)
The Pink Elephant: 3 Flowers, 1 Brad (in the flower) DSP.
My Time to Craft: Forgotten Item from your Stash

Another one for today...

Hello! This is a card that started out with something completely different in mind! I hated the way it was coming out, so I kept the base and searched through my supplies to see what I could do. I came up with this girlie "camouflaged" Whimsy turtle. I paper-pieced the turtle's shell and colored the parts in different shades of pink. I "glammed" it up with some pink glitter glue. I used some Primas, a bow and some eyelets to embellish this cutie! This card fits the Pile it On "at least 3 flowers," My Time to Craft "floral frenzy," and Daring Cardmakers "bejeweled bliss." Thanks for checking it out!

Whimsy and then some!

Hello and Happy Monday! Monday means, new challenge time for Whimsy Stamps Challenge! Our theme this week is Friendship! So I made this fun card using the sketch from Friday Sketchers, Daring Cardmakers "bejewled" challenge and of course, the Whimsy challenge. I stamped the alligator and the frog and colored them with watercolor pencils and cut each out. I used some new glitter cardstock as the background and embellished with brads, a book plate with the sentiment "a friend is someone who...," and the chipboard buckle with ribbons and a dragonfly charm. I highlighted with a white paint pen and some white ice stickles. The inside of the card simply has the rest of the sentiment..."who has always got your back!" I love the colors of this card and I hope you do too! Thanks for stopping by! Check out the other DT cards at Whimsy Stamps Challenge here.
