Lift off!

It's been a while since I've posted. I've barely been home through the month of October! Now, here it is, November! My gosh, this year has flown by! So I am posting this card. It was the birthday card for my friend's five-year-old. He's going through the fascination with outer space phase and dressed up as Alan B. Shepard for Halloween! So I thought it was only fitting to make a Space Shuttle card. I used a navy textured cardstock as the base. I used white craft ink to stamp a "starry" background and made the shooting stars with a chalk pen. The shuttle is a shrunken image from a coloring sheet I found on the web. I outlined it with black Sharpie and colored parts of it. I did the "5" with red Stickles. The final touch was the free-hand flames which were colored with red Stickles, orange and yellow markers. The image was adhered with 3-d glue squares. I love this simple card...and when he opened it,it was the best reaction I've ever gotten from one of my cards! I apologize for the poor quality of the picture...it was taken with my cell phone! Have a great weekend!
