Wings of Hope

Hello Everyone!  Thank you for coming by today.  I am sharing a card that I have made for Whimsy Stamps (in conjunction with artist Crissy Armstrong) to help aid in the relief efforts for Haiti.  Crissy created this absolutely GORGEOUS image called "Wings of Hope," an exclusive image created to raise funds for the Red Cross and Haiti.  The image symbolizes the hope we send to all of the victims, their families and all of the workers and volunteers racing to save the people of Haiti.  The image is being sold as a digital image at Whimsy Stamps.  Proceeds will be donated to the Red Cross.

I colored the image with watercolor pencils and 3D glitter paint in baby pink.  The paper is K&Co.  I embossed the smaller pieces with the script folder for CB and inked the edges in Mellow Moss SU ink.  I used scalloped edging scissors for the center circle.

Thanks so much for stopping by and for your support of this cause.  Visit Whimsy Stamps for more information.

Speaking of Whimsy...please come back tomorrow for a Snowball Fight!  There's a new release you won't want to miss!  See you at 12noon EST to play along!

Stamp Something Funny!

Hi there and Happy Friday!  This week at Stamp Something is a fun challenge :)  The sponsor is Sunshine and Giggles, so the challenge is "funny somethings."  Stamp something fun, funny or that makes you giggle.  I chose an image from Sunshine and Giggles called "Hang on."  I don't know any kid that doesn't have fun sledding...and it's always funny when someone tumbles over :)  I colored the image with water color pencils and highlighted with white gel pen.  The snow is done 3 ways.  I used a snow marker and heat tool for the fluffy snow around the sled.  I used white Ice Stickles for the falling snow and the snow in the far background.  And the rest is using a VersaMarker and white superfine embossing glitter. Thanks for coming by today and please visit all of the DT's!

This card also fits challenges at:

Corrosive Challenge:  Let's go digi

Double Dutch:  Frozen or Frosty
Cute Daisy May: Flowers and ribbon
Gingersnap:  Metallics (tag and snowflake)
Simon Says:  Punch it (circle in tag)

MyGrafico Wednesday Sketch Challenge

Hi all!  Thanks for stopping in today!  Today I'm posting my DT card for the MyGrafico sketch. The set we used is from Pixels and Icecream.  It's a beautiful background set to work with!  I made my card using one of the patterns in black and white (but you CAN change the colors if you want!)  and an accent of teal.  I found this fabulous organdy ribbon in teal with the black stripes.  I used a lace punch, black layered Primas, a charm, silver brads and silver embossing powder with the sentiment. Thanks for coming by today and I'd love it if you'd visit the rest of the DT too!  Happy Wednesday :)

This card fits challenges at:  Cute Daisy May:  flowers and ribbon, My Time to Craft: Damask delights, One Stop Crafts: Fancy edges or corners, Corrosive:  Let's go digi (background paper), Crafty Creations:  Valentine's or love, Creative Belli: Hearts, Gingersnap:  Metallics (embossing, charm), and Simon Says: Punch it.

Whimsy at SNR Tutorial and Challenge

Hi All!  Happy Monday to you all!  Today I have a post for the Whimsy Challenge at SNR.  It's to make something that makes you feel warm and cozy!  And there's a tutorial to make a cocoa packet holder by the lovely Vicki!  I altered the measurements slightly to fit the base card that I had already started.  The main image on front is from Impression Obsession.  The sentiment is from Whimsy.  Chocolate is a fantastic remedy for any ailment...so I figured "get well," is perfect!  The papers I used were DCWV Sweets Stack.  A few BG papers were thrown in too.  I used some Primas layered and an adhesive flourish with superfine embossing glitter.  The cocoa image is paper pieced with another "sweets" page.  I did the cocoa with brown Fun Flock and the marshmallows with the snow marker.  Thanks for checking it out, and please visit everyone over at Whimsy's SNR page!  Fun group, and very talented, too!  This card also fits challenges at:  ABC-L is for layering, Crafty Creations-Textures, Gingersnap-Embossing powders, Simon Says-Shabby Chic, and Rainbow Lady-Tea time.  Oh yeah, and if you are wondering about the Chocolate Chai Tea packet, drop me an email! I'm a Dove Chocolatier :)
