Two for today!

Hello! Hope everyone had a great weekend! Today I am posting two cards. The first is a card I made for my dearest friend's birthday! We celebrated the day at the Creating Keepsakes Convention! We got some fantastic bargains and had a great time! So the card...I started with a brown base then layered a pink and brown plaid printed paper. I cut two strips of the same brown as the base card and pierced one piece with rhinestone brads and the other I layered two prima flowers and glued a Dew Drop to the center. The image is one I got from my friend and colored it with colored pencils. Finally, the sentiment was typed and printed on the computer in brown and mounted on brown. Not my best work, by any means, but I love the color combo! Sorry about the lousy pics...still no real camera!

The next card is a get well card I made for one of my customers. She is having 2 surgeries over the next few weeks so we thought we'd send her some well wishes! This card was made with apricot cardstock, blue cardstock and Basic Grey paper. I stamped the Whimsy Kid's image "Rainy Day Emma" in black and colored with water colored crayons and an aqua painter. I embellished the image with Crystal Effects to simulate rain on the umbrella and around. I mounted this on green then blue then apricot. I used coordinating ribbons and fanned them out over the edges of the card. I affixed some felt flowers in green and orange and topped with a Robin's Egg. The sentiment is stamped in green and mounted on the designer paper and mounted on blue. I used the same sentiment (in full form) on the inside of the card from the Stampin' Up sympathy set.

Thanks for stopping by! I hope to be participating in some challenges again soon! Keep checking back! Happy Monday!
