Stamp Something Birthday Recipe!

Hello and Happy Friday!  What a long (and hot) week! I'm so glad it's over! Four day weekend for me now!  So I'm here to share our challenge over at Stamp Something and it's a Recipe Celebration!  We would like to see patterned paper, a ribbon, a bow and a tag!

So for my card, I used a Sweet Pea image (available through our sponsor, Paper Jewels) called "Dark Royalty." I colored her with Copics.  I have to say probably my best coloring to date!  The papers are DCWV "Linen Closet."  I embellished with ribbons from my stash, a handmade paper rose and pale blue half pearls.  I used the McGillis branch punch for the greenery on the rose. The tag is stamped with a Whimsy accessory and a Whimsy sentiment.  I really hope you like it and please visit all of the DT for some wonderful mojo!  Thanks for stopping by today :)

Late Posting for a Little Birthday!

Hi there! Hope everyone is having a wonderful week! It's incredibly hot and uncomfortable here in NH and I'm looking forward to the cool down coming!  So I am sharing a card today I made last week for my niece's birthday.  She turned three this Monday.
I went with a GF Hope and Grace image and colored her with Copics.  I tried out the tissue paper punched flower technique and finished it with a pink jeweled brad and some tiny black half pearls.  The sentiment pulls out of the side.  The "3" is a wooden number I ended up with in a grab bag.  I heat embossed it in black and finished it with marker (which you can see by the Stickles on the base of the image...the Stickles made it run!)  The paper is Martha Stewart and I used a border stamp on the sides of the image.  I embossed the black cardstock with Paisley CB folder. Thanks for looking an have a great day!

Challenges:
Little Red Wagon: Birthday
Quixotic Paperie: Emboss it (black background cardstock)
Pixie Dust: Add a pearl (mini half pearls on corners and flower)
Allsorts: Tag, ticket or label (pullout tag "Happy Birthday")

CCC Pink and Green Challenge and a RAK Event!

Happy Tuesday, Everyone! Thanks for stopping by today!  I have a fab project to share today! Our challenge at Creative Card Crew is a color challenge! Pink and Green!  The sponsor is:

Crafty Addicts and Heather has given us some fabulous flowers as the prize:

What a great prize!  My card is made for a special reason...

One of our dear DT members at Whimsy Inspirations has a sister who is terminally ill.  She has dealt with some troubling news, finding out that Cancer has spread through her body.  Lisa has asked that we all make a card for her sister, Jayme, and send it to her to cheer her up and make her smile.  Lisa also mentioned that she loves frogs, so if we could do something with a frog, it would be fantastic.  To read the whole story, click HERE.  For an ADORABLE FREEBIE by Crissy Armstrong for Whimsy Stamps, created in honor of Jayme, click HERE.

So here's what I made:

I used the Whimsy Frog and colored him with Copics.  His eyes were colored green and then glittered with green sparkly glitter!  The lily pad is a Prima Hydrangea folded. The sentiment is my sad attempt at a play on words...instead of "a hug for you," I did "a frog for you."  Hope it at least makes her smile :)

To participate in this sweet and most thoughtful cause, please go to Lisa's Blog to do you part and make someone's day.

Thanks for stopping by.
