World Card Making Day!

Some people complain about rain, but I say, YAY!!!  It was an excuse to make cards for this lovely holiday, World Card Making Day!  I have a card to share that I am in LOVE with!  I used the sketch from The Fresh Batch Weekly Sketches to put together this "wild" card.  I absolutely love this giraffe from Whimsy Stamps!  I happened to have this fabulous paper from DCWV in the Animal Crackers pack and the primary colored tags and silver letter brads were a perfect compliment!  This card also fits the following challenges:

Pollycraft- 5 s's...snowflakes, stripes, spots, sparkle, swirl...use at least 2 (I have sparkle and spots!)
Creative Card Crew- All that sparkles
Creative Inspirations- Letters/Numbers (brads and inside of card)
Fresh Batch Weekly Sketches- Sketch

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you are creating in honor of World Card Making Day!

Have a great night :)

Stamp Something!!!

Happy Friday!  Thanks for coming back!  Today's challenge at Stamp Something is "Apples/Teachers and Classrooms," in honor of our sponsor this week, Our Creative Classroom!  I went more with a Preschool theme for my card.  I thought it would make a fabulous first day of school card for a young one!  I used the sketch from Truly Scrumptious to get me going.  I tried to work with primary colors and some really fun school papers...I used 2 from Rusty Pickle...I wish I could showcase the second paper better...it says "time out!"  It's so cute!  Anyway, the image is from a teddy bear collection I have from AC Moore.  I distressed some of the edges for a fun feel.  The sentiment is on white cardstock that I drew the lines with colored pencils and used the notebook punch on it.  It's written in pencil.  I hope you enjoy my little creation and hope to see you back soon!  Please run on over to Stamp Something for more inspiration from our fabulous DT!

This card fits these challenges:

Stamp Something:  Apple/teacher/classroom
Truly Scrumptious:  Sketch
Creative Inspirations:  Letters/Numbers
Cute Card Thursday:  Firsts (first day of school)
Secret Crafter:  Animal Antics
Allsorts:  Autumn (school starts in the fall!)

A Beary Nice Card

Hi All!  It's been a crazy week so far and I'm looking forward to a quiet weekend!  I'll be getting together with a couple of friends for lunch on Saturday but otherwise, doing nothing but stamp (I hope!)  Here's one I whipped up yesterday (which almost made me late for babysitting!)  I love this image...I love teddy bears!  I love how cuddly they are and this image definitely gives me a warm fuzzy feeling!  I followed the sketch for Stamp with Fun.  I used paper that is embossed with raised dots and I embossed the center brown strip with CB and a spots folder to fit ABC's challenge.  Secret Crafter had "Animal Antics" as a theme.  Creative Inspirations wanted to see letters or numbers (does my sentiment count?)  And Whimsy's challenge is eyelets.  Thank you so much for stopping by!  Please come back tomorrow to see what's new at Stamp Something's Challenge

A Few Fun Challenges!

Hi there!  I'll make this quick since I really should be getting to laundry and bed!  I just threw this card together to fit a few challenges.  I'm really trying to concentrate on Christmas cards right now...I hate to rush when it's actually time to send them out, so here's another for my collection!  I decorated inside and out, and used a hidden message idea for the window on the inside.  I tried to fit as many challenges as I could.  So here goes:

Paper Maniac-sketch
My Time to Craft-snow buddies
Crafty Creations-window
Creative Card Crew-all that sparkles
A Spoon Full of Sugar- Christmas
Daring Cardmakers- Tartan
Basic Grey-embossing (and BG paper is the tartan plaid)
One Stop- die cuts
Pollycraft- use 2 or more of either snowflakes, sparkle, spots, stripes or swirls
Whimsy-eyelets

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a great night!

I've been busy!

Hello again!  I have 2 more cards to post!  I am supposed to be working on paperwork for my full time job, but I just had to do some stamping first!  The first card is one I made for the Sketch Saturday challenge.  I used this fab image from my dear friend and colored her to match my papers. The challenge for Allsorts was Autumn and I think the colors work for that!  Creative Inspirations is also Autumn themed and actually, so is My Time to Craft!  I finished off the card with some Prima's layered and adorned with bead spacers and jeweled brads. The sentiment is some punches and a small alphabet set from the dollar bin.

The next card is a baby card for a cousin who just had her second child!  It's another boy, so I tried to make it less girly!  I used the sketch from Sketch & Stash.  The image is the cutest little hippo!  I thought it was perfect for the background paper :) Simon Says called for stitching.  Secret Crafter has an Animal Antic challenge! I think that's all today...now off to do REAL work :)  Thanks for stopping by!

Whimsy!

Monday again, ho hum!  But it means new challenges!  Over at Whimsy this week, it's "The Eyes Have It!"  We'd like to see you use eyelets on your project!  I went with Rainy Day Emma from the Whimsy Kids Collection for this card.  I used the sketch from Everybody Art Challenge. I used the sewing machine to stitch the border of the background paper to fit the Simon Says challenge of stitching.  Lala Land wanted to see paper piecing, so I paper pieced her dress and the umbrella.  I used some ribbon through my eyelets to fit the Paper Maniac challenge.  I finished up the image with water color pencils, some glitter paint and paper glittered flowers.  Thanks for stopping by and please check out the rest of the DT's cards.  Also, while you're at Whimsy, please look at the Teddy for Paige Digi image for sale to support a worthy cause!  $3.00 can really help a little girl and her family!  Thanks and have a FANTASTIC day!!!
