Father's Day and Graduation Party Posts

Hello Everyone! It's yet again raining here in beautiful, NH! So I have a few minutes to post some recent projects! Quick story: The Father's Day card was for my step-dad whom my mother refers to as "The Great Squirrel Hunter." He enjoys "removing" squirrels and chipmunks from his berry garden. I found this layout on a PTW sketch and LOVE IT! I found the image of the squirrel on an online coloring sheet and colored him with markers and pencils. The strawberry was stamped and colored.

The next project is a graduation card for a friend and former co-worker. She just graduated from Keene State College as an education major. I did her card with the same layout, but used the Keene colors and used a Whimsy Stamps image, the owl, since Keene's mascot is an owl. I embellished with 4 flowers, representing each of her years there and used a cute little $1 alphabet set from the craft store to stamp the sentiment. I love the colors and she enjoyed the card too!

On a different note, I also made the cake for the graduation party. It was part of my gift. I made a 3 layer cake. The bottom layer was golden, and the top two were chocolate. I know the pic is horrible, but in case you can't tell...the bottom two layers are books and the top is a graduation cap. The base of the cap is cake but the top is chocolate melted into a large square bar then frosted to match the cake. It is by no means professional, but it was fun to make (and tasty too!) Thanks for checking out my blog today!
