Double the Challenge

Hello again and Happy Friday! I don't know about you but it's been one harrowing week and I'm glad it's over! August is always busy for me, but this summer seems moreso than usual! But I still made time to make another card for the Arty Girlz Challenge(http://artygirlzchallengeblog.blogspot.com/) and Papertake Weekly Challenge (http://papertakeweekly.blogspot.com/). I created a Vintage Card for the Arty Girlz Challenge using Katharina's sketch for the Papertake Weekly Challenge. I struggled with the lines trying to make it all even but no matter what, it came out slightly askew! So as my college art professor said, "There's no mistakes in Art!" Enjoy!

Christmas in July...a day late!!!

Hi there! So it's been a while since I've had a chance to post. So today, I got together with my friend Vanessa and we stamped! I decided to work on some Christmas cards from last weeks challenges. But this card was meant to serve two purposes. First, the Arty Girlz Challenge Blog( challenge this week is "Blue." And second, last week's Stamp Something Challenge (http://stampchallenges.blogspot.com/) and the Papertake Weekly Challenges (http://papertakeweekly.blogspot.com/)were "Christmas in July." So I made this "Blue Christmas" card. I used two shades of blue and layered them. I then stamped a JOY snowman tag from a Stampin' Up set with Versa Mark then used silver embossing powder to color it. I used a Fiskars lace corner punch on the single corner. I also used some blue ribbon between layers. Finally, I punched flowers using a Stampin' Up floral punch. I layered two of each in opposing shades of blue and then punched a silver brad in the center of each. They were mounted with 3-D mounting squares in the corners. I'll be posting more of todays art projects later! Hope you enjoy and thanks for stopping by! )

Handyman's Birthday

Happy Monday, Everyone! Hope you all had a fantastic weekend! I got plenty of sun and relaxation! I even got motivated to go back to the gym today! This week's challenge on http://artygirlzchallengeblog.blogspot.com/ is to make a card for a man! Well, tomorrow is my step-dad's birthday! He's a contractor. So, to make this card, I used some Jolee's tool stickers, a palette of browns with some white and a suede frame to create this little handy man's birthday card! I used scraps from my bin and the happy came from the "So Very" Stampin' Up set and the birthday stamp came from a set from AC Moore. I accented with some silver round brads and a couple of square pewter brads. So that's that! Hope you like it! Have a great night!

Triple Challenge with a Twist!

Today I worked on the challenge for the Stamp Something Blog. The challenge was to use 3 colors, 3 embellishments and 3 layers. I used my winnings from one of their previous challenges to make a red, white and blue birthday card! I used white cardstock as the base, a piece of red textured cardstock, some navy cardstock that I embossed with a Fiskars texture plate, rwb ribbon, the Stampin' Up ribbon punch, the sentiment is from a Stampin' Up set, the metal rimmed tag, 3 brads (embellished with Stickles) and red and navy inks. I also embellished the metal rimmed tag with Stickles and a tiny rub-on! I think I have too many embellishments for the challenge, but I like the color combo anyway!
