Snow Day :)

Today was a snowy, poor driving day. So, my business partner and I decided to reschedule our jobs and take the day off! I have done NOTHING useful all day, so to avoid the kitchen, I decided to get back to stamping. I made a Spring-like little girl's birthday card using my new stamp "Daisy" I bought from Funkykits. She is adorable...my coloring did not do her justice! I need some better colored markers. It seems I always need something! I used a decorative paper and used pink, yellow and green cardstocks, yellow ribbon, a yellow rhinestone and a pink heart shaped paperclip. I used a tag and stamped the sentiment on white and colored with markers. The corners are punched using a circle punch. This was not a challenge card, but a just for fun. Thanks for stopping by :)

Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge

Hello...Here is a birthday card I made yesterday for the Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge. I used the Whimsy Stamps Polar Bear for the image. I used some designer paper in red white and blue paisley and coordinated my cardstock to match. The CB paisley folder and some flowers and jeweled brads perked up the design. I colored the bear with white ice stickles to make him pop. I used red organdy ribbon and a star ribbon folded into a bow. That's all for today!

Stamp Something and PTW Challenges

Hello...two posts in a day! I like to try to combine 2 challenges for an added challenge. Today I did the "Recipe Something" challenge on Stamp Something and I made it using the Papertake Weekly challenge sketch. I used a mocha colored base at 5.5". I then cut 3 strips. One in chocolate brown which I ran through the CB folder "Traffic Jam." The next two strips were a designer paper with a brown brick wall pattern which I cut in different directions. I cut a dark brown piece and a smaller white square which I drew lines in blue and red to resemble an index card. I then stamped that piece with SU So Sweet chocolate chips in SU close to cocoa. I wrote the recipe for Candy Bar Brownies in dark brown pen. I mimicked the look and stamped the sentiment using a mini alphabet set and framed it with a brown sueded frame. For the embellishments, I used a jumbo paper clip and stamped the chocolate saying and punched with the SU tag punch, set a brown eyelet then tied it with hemp twine. I stamped and cut out the chocolate cupcake and decorated it with ice stickles. I think that's all...LOL! Thanks for checking me out :)

Whiff of Joy Sketch Challenge

Hello there! I had a slow work day today so I was able to catch up on paperwork and now I'm just stamping! Here is my submission for the Whiff of Joy Challenge this week. My friend, Denise, sent me some WOJ images to use in challenges. So I colored her with some markers and used gold Stickles on her wings. I used some designer paper from a pack and coordinated the ribbon and cardstocks to match. The sentiment is from the SU Noteworthy set. I finished the card with freehand squiggles, a Prima flower, a button and a few jeweled and button brads. Thanks for looking!

New Stuff

Hello All! Today I decided I wanted to play with my new CB folders and ribbon and one of my Christmas gifts--The Whimsy Animal Collection Polar Bear. I followed Katharina's sketch over on the Whiff of Joy Challenge Blog. I used a teal base cardstock and a cream layer embossed with the stylized flowers CB folder. I used some multi-colored ribbon to cover seams and a strip of olive green ribbon as well. The circles were cut using the Fiskars circle cutter template. I colored the bear with brown colored pencils to outline, then SU Close to Cocoa ink with a water brush. The sentiment was stamped in SU Always Artichoke and mounted with foam squares on green and then red corrugated paper. I embellished with some Prima flowers and a red rhinestone as well as a brown button with hemp twine and a scrap of the multi-ribbon. If you like the bear, please go to WhimsyStamps.com and check out the rest of the line! Thanks for stopping by!

Roses on Paper Challenge

Happy Friday! I've been working on this card challenge all week and finally finished it. My friend Denise was kind enough to stamp me some images for this card challenge. It was a sketch...and it was tough! I decided to give it a shot as a baby girl card for one of my customers who just gave birth to their fourth child...a little girl! I went with a cream colored base card and then layered pink which I ran through the Cuttlebug with the textile folder. I then layered the dark brown patterned cardstock. I embellished with layers of paper flowers, an oval book plate framing "sweet pea" from the Cuttlebug folder, pink buttons and white pearl strands. Finally, the image is on white cardstock on top of pink on cream. I used a Fiskars "lace" corner punch on the white and scalloped edge scissors on the pink. This image is colored with colored pencils and adorned with white ice Stickles on the fur trim and pom poms of the girl. It was a lot of work, and I wish this picture came out better! Still no camera :( Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend!

Mojo Monday and Papertake Weekly Challenges

Hello! Today (so far) I've done a two-fer! I had 2 baby cards to make today and this is the first. My cousin and his wife delivered their third and final baby yesterday...a boy! So I went with a blue and brown color palette. I found the designer paper in a pack I have and matched the cardstocks as best I could. I embossed the blue strip and the white semi-circle with the Cuttlebug Dots and Spots folder. I embellished with silver button brads, blue eyelets, brown ribbon, and I punched the rounded corners with a circle punch on some scrap cardstock. The giraffe image is from the Stampin' Up Bundle of Joy set. The layout is the sketch from MojoMonday #70 and the Papertake Weekly Challenge this week was to use 3 different shapes on your card...I have circle, square and rectangle! Thanks for checking it out!
