Let's Get Punchy!

Another Monday and another Whimsy Challenge!  This week, we'd love to see you use punches on your piece!  I used the sketch from Papertake Weekly for my project.  I went with a Christmas theme and used the Whimsy Penguin and Seal stamp as the main image.  I stamped a misc. Santa hat I had and cut out to embellish these guys!  The sentiment is from a miscellaneous set I got from mail order. I used the SU tag punch for the sentiment as well.  The ribbon is from Joann's.  I used SU flower punches to create the 3 flowers as well as the tree in the background.  The glue on jewels "bling up" the whole thing!  The background paper is from Rusty Pickle.  The Creative Card Crew challenge was "Celebrations."  I believe Christmas fits :)  And Saturday Spotlight was "Dress up a Tree!" Thanks for stopping by and please remember to check out the rest of the Whimsy DT work!  Happy Monday :)

Also, another important message while you're here...One of the DT members, Giovanna, has an important note:

 "Cards for Bekah!!

Hello my friends!! I hope you are having a great day. Did you know that October is Spina Bifida Awareness Month?? Well, maybe you didn't, but now you do. Why am I asking you this? Well, my neighbor, who is a sweet and wonderful little girl, was born with this condition. Her name is Rebekah, she is 7 years old and a great kid. When Nicole (her mom) told me about Spina Bifida Awareness Month I asked her if she was planning to do something. Immediately, an idea came to my mind, why not send Bekah a lot of cards?? I hope you can help me to make her feel really special. I remember few weeks ago I was talking to Nicole and she was telling about Bekah's comments , she told her mom she would love to meet people like her."

Please hop on over to Giovanna's blog to learn more about how you can participate and help brighten a little girl's day :)  Thanks so much!

Whimsy Monday!

Happy Monday!  Hope you had a fabulous weekend!  Today at Whimsy Challenge is Sugar and Spice or Snails & Frogs!  Make an all girl or all boy card!  So I decided to make a girly card with the Whimsy Skunk.  I used the sketch from Friday Sketchers.  I added tons of sparkle to fit the Creative Card Crew challenge of "All that sparkles."  ABC wanted to see embossing, so I embossed the sentiment.  Creative Inspirations wanted to see letters or numbers.  Three Clovers wanted to see pink in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness.  Thanks so much for stopping by and please check out the rest of the work the DT has done!

World Card Making Day!

Some people complain about rain, but I say, YAY!!!  It was an excuse to make cards for this lovely holiday, World Card Making Day!  I have a card to share that I am in LOVE with!  I used the sketch from The Fresh Batch Weekly Sketches to put together this "wild" card.  I absolutely love this giraffe from Whimsy Stamps!  I happened to have this fabulous paper from DCWV in the Animal Crackers pack and the primary colored tags and silver letter brads were a perfect compliment!  This card also fits the following challenges:

Pollycraft- 5 s's...snowflakes, stripes, spots, sparkle, swirl...use at least 2 (I have sparkle and spots!)
Creative Card Crew- All that sparkles
Creative Inspirations- Letters/Numbers (brads and inside of card)
Fresh Batch Weekly Sketches- Sketch

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you are creating in honor of World Card Making Day!

Have a great night :)

Stamp Something!!!

Happy Friday!  Thanks for coming back!  Today's challenge at Stamp Something is "Apples/Teachers and Classrooms," in honor of our sponsor this week, Our Creative Classroom!  I went more with a Preschool theme for my card.  I thought it would make a fabulous first day of school card for a young one!  I used the sketch from Truly Scrumptious to get me going.  I tried to work with primary colors and some really fun school papers...I used 2 from Rusty Pickle...I wish I could showcase the second paper better...it says "time out!"  It's so cute!  Anyway, the image is from a teddy bear collection I have from AC Moore.  I distressed some of the edges for a fun feel.  The sentiment is on white cardstock that I drew the lines with colored pencils and used the notebook punch on it.  It's written in pencil.  I hope you enjoy my little creation and hope to see you back soon!  Please run on over to Stamp Something for more inspiration from our fabulous DT!

This card fits these challenges:

Stamp Something:  Apple/teacher/classroom
Truly Scrumptious:  Sketch
Creative Inspirations:  Letters/Numbers
Cute Card Thursday:  Firsts (first day of school)
Secret Crafter:  Animal Antics
Allsorts:  Autumn (school starts in the fall!)

A Beary Nice Card

Hi All!  It's been a crazy week so far and I'm looking forward to a quiet weekend!  I'll be getting together with a couple of friends for lunch on Saturday but otherwise, doing nothing but stamp (I hope!)  Here's one I whipped up yesterday (which almost made me late for babysitting!)  I love this image...I love teddy bears!  I love how cuddly they are and this image definitely gives me a warm fuzzy feeling!  I followed the sketch for Stamp with Fun.  I used paper that is embossed with raised dots and I embossed the center brown strip with CB and a spots folder to fit ABC's challenge.  Secret Crafter had "Animal Antics" as a theme.  Creative Inspirations wanted to see letters or numbers (does my sentiment count?)  And Whimsy's challenge is eyelets.  Thank you so much for stopping by!  Please come back tomorrow to see what's new at Stamp Something's Challenge
