Recipe for Love...for Jaimie!

Happy Friday!  And thanks for stopping by!  Today at Stamp Something, the challenge is a recipe...for love!  We're still spreading the love and hugs to Jaimie Cates...if you don't yet know the story, please visit the Stamp Something...for Jaimie blog.  And please join us on the blog hop that ends Monday at 10am EST.  Now, on to the recipe!  Today we'd like to see 1 ribbon, 2 papers and 3 embellishments!  Our sponsor this week is Mo from Mo's Digital Pencil.  She has some of THE cutest images to choose from!  This is Bismarck...I just fell in love with him (mainly because he's a dog :))  I used a Christmas paper for the backing and a textured red paper for the background circle.  The image is colored with watercolor pencils and Stickles.  I turned it into a shaker card by adding a sheet of acetate and taping it to the back.  I put about a tsp of white snow glitter.  I glued to the red circle.  The top is a wooden letter tag flipped over and rubbed with cocoa ink and gold glitter.  The charm is a rustic stocking that says NOEL. The sentiment is from SU.  The roses from Joann.  Thanks for stopping by and please check out the AMAZING projects our DT came up with!  This card also fits the following challenges:

Crafty Cardmakers:  Stamped Image (rubber, or digi)
Digital Tuesday:  Flowers
ABC:  Green (the base card, paper, ribbon and bow in the imag all have green!)
Cooking It Up With Katie:  Christmas, Sparkle, and Border
Fun with Shapes and More:  Recycling (acetate was from a package of flowers I was throwing away)

More Love for Jaimie!

Hello Everyone!  I am putting this post up for the children I babysit for!  They all wanted to help spread some love to Jaimie and they put their hearts into art!  Here's their work:

The first picture is a card by Chelsey, age 2.  The next 3 pictures are of the first card Isabelle, age 9 made.  It's the front, inside and back.  The next 2 pics are a book that Owen, age 6 made.  He made tons of pages, but those two were the ones he worked the hardest on :)  And the final 3 are the second card Isabelle made.  It touched my heart to see them working so hard and they are very excited to know that they are going to someone special!  I am so happy they wanted to help!  They are wonderful kids!

Thanks for stopping by and please come again :)  Visit this blog too:

A DT Submission and some challenges!

Hi All!  Hope you are enjoying your hopping around spreading the love for Jaimie Cates!  Today I am posting my submission for the DT call at MyGrafico Challenge Blog.  The challenge was to use this cute little singing robin image and create a card!  I used the sketch at Everybody Art Challenge.  I also wanted to incorporate "Blue Christmas," as it was the challenge at Cute Daisy May.  I used various shades of blue with different DP's.  The image is colored with water color pencils and sparkled up with Stickles.  I embossed snowflakes on the ovals.  Crafty Cardmakers wanted to see a stamped image (digi or hand), Creative Card Crew wanted ribbons and gems, Digital Tuesday wanted flowers and a digi image,  Simon Says was all that sparkles, Cooking it Up with Katie wanted to see Christmas, sparkle and borders, and finally, Stamp With Us wanted to see something Christmas!  So there you have it!  Thanks for stopping by today!  I love your comments :)  Happy stamping!

Blog Hop for a cause and Whimsy's Challenge!

Hi there everyone! This week I have some information to share with you about a fantastic blog hop taking place for a special cause.  Here in NH, USA, a family has experienced a horrific and heartbreaking crime.  A mother was killed and her daughter, severely injured in a senseless, random crime.  It was a robbery gone bad.  Fortunately, the strong little girl, named Jaimie, has recovered and returned to school.  But she has a long road ahead of her. The ladies at Stamp Something pulled together an ENORMOUS effort and started an International Blog Hop!  The goal is to bring smiles back to Jaimie Cates and show her love and support in this tough time.  Please read the following for more information:

"On October 4th, 4 teenagers armed with knives broke into a home in a small town in New Hampshire. Alone and sleeping inside were a mother and her 11 year old daughter. These 4 boys broke into this home with the intent to rob and kill anyone inside. They stabbed the mom, Kimberly Cates, to death and left her daughter, Jaimie, for dead in their driveway.  It was a completely random act, their home was chosen only due to its secluded surroundings."

Our hope is that everyone hopping around today will stop for a moment and think about Jaimie and her father and what life must be like for them now. One moment in time has changed their lives forever. We are asking that everyone reading this message please take a moment to make a card and send it off to Jaimie. You can make something very simple or much more involved, but please share some words of hope and love and let her know that people do care and want the best for her. Please send your card to the address below:

I know what it is like to lose a parent at that age, and I know what it meant to get a card or have someone tell me that it was going to be okay.  That's why I wanted to be a part of this effort.

We have generous sponsors who have kindly offered up some prizes to anyone who makes a card, posts it on their blogs, and lets us know they mailed it out. The URL for the blog is:  http://spreadthelove-forjaimie.blogspot.com/

Our hop will beginning on Monday, November 2nd at 10am ET, this is New York, USA time.  If you need help with the time zones, please refer to this site....http://www.worldtimezone.com/  There is a world map with current times listed.

The hop will run a full week to allow people time to participate and make their card for Jaimie. So the hop will end on Monday, November 9th at 10am ET. At that point we will draw random winners to receive the prizes offered by our generous sponsors.

The hop begins at:
Katharina Frei  http://katharina1704.blogspot.com/

Please go there now to participate, and follow the directions to the next hop.  If you have come here before Sharon Traynor's blog http://cardsngreetings.blogspot.com/, you need to go back to the beginning of the list and start at Katharina's blog The hop will end on the new blog Stamp Something...for Jaimie on Monday, November 9th.

Now onto Whimsy!  Whimsy's Challenge this week is Rounding Up Love for Jaimie! It's to coordinate with the efforts of the blog hop.  So we would like you to do something with circles and send it to Jaimie!  I made this round card as a base.  I found this adorable button paper from DCWV.  I used cardstocks to coordinate.  The image is Summer Day Emma...but I colored her in more fall colors.  I hope you enjoy her and if you do, go buy her at Whimsy Stamps!  :)  Thanks for stopping by today and have fun hopping!  And thanks for your support!

This also fits the challenges at:

Daring Cardmakers: Getting Punchy (small circle is punched)

Stamp Something for...

Hi Everyone! Happy Friday!  Our challenge at Stamp Something this week is Cute and Fuzzy!  The sponsor for this sweet challenge is Ildi Co.  These wonderful sponsors gave us some images to work with so I chose Cuddle Kuma with Present.  I colored him with water color pencils and a white gel pen for highlights.  I cut out the gift and had him checking out the flowers instead :)  I followed the sketch from Truly Scrumptious, but flipped some stuff around.  The flowers are Primas with punched centers, spacers and jeweled brads.  The sentiment is from the dollar bin at Michaels and stuck to a scalloped circle enhanced with some faux stitching.

This card fits the following challenges: Simon Says-All that sparkles, Ildi Co's-In stitches, Daring Cardmakers-Getting Punchy with it, Allsorts-Furry friends, Crazy 4 Challenges-It's all Geometric

This card is made for a special little girl here in my home state of NH.  Jaimie Cates was a victim of a horrific crime in her home.  As a result of this crime, her mother, Kimberly,  was tragically and brutally taken from her.  All of us at Stamp Something, headed up by Denise and Erin, would like to help this family any way we can.  So Erin and Denise (with help from others!) developed a blog to spread the love to Jaimie and in her honor.  Please visit the blog listed below to learn more about her story and how you can help bring joy back to a very strong and brave girl.  Please think of her and keep her in your prayers.  Thanks for stopping by today.  And please check out the rest of the DT projects as well as the Stamp Something for Jaimie.

Whimsy Monday!

Hello and Happy Monday!  I don't know about you, but it was a long weekend and I'm exhausted!  Today is a new challenge at Whimsy and we have a sketch for you!  I chose one of the newest images from the Whimsy Kids collection! Soccer Connor is colored with watercolor pencils.  I went with orange and white for the color scheme because I just love when boys wear orange.  Not sure why...but it's a great boy color!  The sentiment is a sticker from a set I got in a grab bag from The Rusty Pickle.  I am sending this to my nephew that ***fingers crossed!!!*** will find out today that he BEAT his anaphylactic allergy to peanuts!!!! My poor nephew and nieces all have severe food allergies, but Kam looks like he's outgrown it! It's such exciting news for our family :)

Thanks for stopping by today!  Please see the rest of the DT blogs for more inspiration!  Have a great day!

This card fits these challenges:
Creative Card Crew:  Babies and children
My Time to Craft:  Halloween colors
One Stop:  Celebration
Secret Crafter:  Orange+1 other color

More Halloween!

Hi All!  Today I am posting a Halloween card to send out tomorrow to my friend's son.  He's six, so I wanted it to be fun and spooky!  I used this adorable Dustin Pike image and colored it some fun colors.  I've been dying to try out this technique on a card, and this was my chance!  The technique is "Felted Cardstock."  I found these cute napkins at Joann's and followed the instructions I got from Split Coast.  I LOVE it!  I will be buying out napkins everywhere!  So fun!  I embossed the orange strip with CB Skeleton Scroll.  The sentiment is from a set.  Inside is decorated too...I wanted to add the candy corn border somewhere, but didn't want to cover my skeletons :)  So that's that!  Hope you like...but I hope the recipient likes it best :)  Happy Stamping!  Be back tomorrow with a Whimsy Card!

Creative Card Crew:  Babies and Children (the card is for a child)
