Anything but...

This is my submission for the Stamp Something Blog Challenge. This week it's Anything but a Card in red white and blue. I took a plain grapevine wreath that I had and wrapped some patriotic fabrics that I had sewn together for a quilt (that I was too lazy to finish!) and attached them in the back. Then I took a really rough cut folk heart, painted it a barn red. Then, I did a clear coat to seal it. I used SU Whisper White craft ink and stamped small stars around the heart and did white rub on's for the USA. I sealed it again to stop the ink from running if it gets wet. I hot glued the heart to the wreath. It's ready to go on the door!

An Engagement Card

Hello! Last weekend, I missed a friend's engagement party due to a scheduling conflict. If I was on my game, I would have had this card done and sent to her already! But I wanted to make sure it was perfect! I think this is as close as I can get. I used just about every tool I had to make this "book" style card. I stuck with teal, black and white, with some gold accents. I wanted it to have a contemporary and elegant feel, much like the recipient! I hope she likes it! The front scanned beautifully, but the inside didn't scan as well. The glittery ring does not show up well. And neither does the embossing on the white on the front of the card. Please email with questions if you have any! Thanks! Have a great night!

Today was a very non-productive day due to the weather. So I stayed inside in my air-conditioned room and browsed through some blogs. I decided to give it a shot and try out a challenge that Denise participated in from the Stamp Something Challenge Blog. It was a sketch. So I tried to be a sport (as Denise knows, I HATE rules) and do what the sketch depicted. I used teal and brown and tan with some white and cream. I used ribbon, twine and a chipboard embellishment as well as a rhinestone brad. The stamp is from Stampin' Up's Merci set. I also used a texture plate to do the tan background. I also put some 3-D gel with sparkle on the butterfly's body, antennae and spots on the wings. This is NOT my style, but I kind of like how it came out. I wish I could get a better picture for you to see! Since the camera isn't working well on it's own, and the scanner quality stinks, I'm working on a light box. I hope to have better quality pics on here very soon! Thanks for stopping by! Have a great night and a Happy Monday :)

Wedding Shower Card

In honor of all the hard work Denise did on the invitations, I decided to work on the card for her sister-in-law-to-be for the shower. I used the wedding colors (black, white and lavender) and created this little card. I used the lavender cardstock as the base and used some Stampin' Up rub ons for the floral part. I used the Stampin' Up stamp from the Happily Ever After set and stamped it in black on the lower portion of the card. I cut the oval for the background for the dress using a circle cutter then embossed it with a curvy line motif on a Fiskars texture plate. I used the Crop-A-Dile to punch two hole in the crease of the card and set 2 large black eyelets. I threaded through black, white and a lavender see-thru ribbon and tied them in a bow. I hot-glued a string of faux pearls around the edge of the black oval. I used a dress punch to make the dress, and embellished it with a 3-d embossing gel, and sprinkled lavender and white glitter on it. Once dried, I used a 3-d glue tab to position it on the black piece. And there you have it! I wish I could get better pictures to really show the detail and proper colors but my camera keeps dying and the scanner is just plain difficult! Oh well! Have a great one and I'll probably be back with a new card this weekend! Thanks for peeking :)

Good Morning! Thanks for stopping by again! Today I have a whole bunch of things to get to so this will be short! This latest post is the birthday card I made for my sister-in-law. I used a miscellaneous lot of supplies in brown, banana (not sure of the real name but it's Stampin' Up) and white. I used Stampin' Up stamps, silver brads and brown ribbon. I also "stitched" the sides of the white, using a paper sewing machine with no thread. The corner pieces were cut with shaper scissors. Finally, I used clear embossing ink and clear glitter to embellish the cake. Please excuse the image...I've been using my scanner and it's not the greatest quality. I promise to have better pics soon! Thanks!

My latest creation

Tomorrow is my friend Erica's birthday so I decided to make her an original card. I used Stampin Up Certainly Celery cardstock and ink on the card base, Stampin Up Bashful Blue as the accent background, Stampin Up stamps and Floral Punch and some coordinating ribbon and a patterned paper I found that matched the colors perfectly. I punched the flowers out of the patterned paper 4 times, used a needle to poke holes through the centers and used pastel yellow brads as the centers. The stems are just ribbon stitched randomly through the cardstock. I also used the Stampin Up Tag Punch and layered the colors. The picture makes the card look crooked, but I assure you it's even! Thanks for checking it out and feel free to leave your input! Have a great night!

Welcome!

Hello and Welcome to my new blog! I am relatively new to the blog scene and decided to create one after some coaxing on the part of my best friend. Her name is Denise and she can be credited with my addiction to stamping!

That being said, here is my first posting for a project:

This is the card I created for my step-dad for Father's Day. I used some baseball printed paper, some decorative buttons, and some miscellaneous cardstock from my scrapbox. I used stamps from Stampin Up as well as Close to My Heart. Sorry about the picture quality!
My intent is to post new cards as often as possible so keep checking back! Thanks!
