Christmas in July...a day late!!!

Hi there! So it's been a while since I've had a chance to post. So today, I got together with my friend Vanessa and we stamped! I decided to work on some Christmas cards from last weeks challenges. But this card was meant to serve two purposes. First, the Arty Girlz Challenge Blog( challenge this week is "Blue." And second, last week's Stamp Something Challenge (http://stampchallenges.blogspot.com/) and the Papertake Weekly Challenges (http://papertakeweekly.blogspot.com/)were "Christmas in July." So I made this "Blue Christmas" card. I used two shades of blue and layered them. I then stamped a JOY snowman tag from a Stampin' Up set with Versa Mark then used silver embossing powder to color it. I used a Fiskars lace corner punch on the single corner. I also used some blue ribbon between layers. Finally, I punched flowers using a Stampin' Up floral punch. I layered two of each in opposing shades of blue and then punched a silver brad in the center of each. They were mounted with 3-D mounting squares in the corners. I'll be posting more of todays art projects later! Hope you enjoy and thanks for stopping by! )

Handyman's Birthday

Happy Monday, Everyone! Hope you all had a fantastic weekend! I got plenty of sun and relaxation! I even got motivated to go back to the gym today! This week's challenge on http://artygirlzchallengeblog.blogspot.com/ is to make a card for a man! Well, tomorrow is my step-dad's birthday! He's a contractor. So, to make this card, I used some Jolee's tool stickers, a palette of browns with some white and a suede frame to create this little handy man's birthday card! I used scraps from my bin and the happy came from the "So Very" Stampin' Up set and the birthday stamp came from a set from AC Moore. I accented with some silver round brads and a couple of square pewter brads. So that's that! Hope you like it! Have a great night!

Triple Challenge with a Twist!

Today I worked on the challenge for the Stamp Something Blog. The challenge was to use 3 colors, 3 embellishments and 3 layers. I used my winnings from one of their previous challenges to make a red, white and blue birthday card! I used white cardstock as the base, a piece of red textured cardstock, some navy cardstock that I embossed with a Fiskars texture plate, rwb ribbon, the Stampin' Up ribbon punch, the sentiment is from a Stampin' Up set, the metal rimmed tag, 3 brads (embellished with Stickles) and red and navy inks. I also embellished the metal rimmed tag with Stickles and a tiny rub-on! I think I have too many embellishments for the challenge, but I like the color combo anyway!

Hi there! Today I visited another challenge blog called MojoMonday. I decided to use the layout for a Thank You card to give to someone I don't even know! I was GIVEN a ticket to see Bon Jovi tomorrow night! The girl who bought the tickets can no longer make it, so she gave hers to my friend. My friend called me and surprised me with it! So the card is to thank the original ticket owner...I'm sure I'll be even more appreciative AFTER the concert! For the card, I used a violet colored cardstock for the base. The background is a wavy plaid patterned paper in cool colors, and I used white to stamp the images on. It doesn't show in the scan, but I sponge dabbed the ink into the main image so there are hints of blue and violet in the image. I love the colors together...my favorites! I used stamps from Stampin' Up's Merci and Much Appreciated sets. I used some sheer purple ribbon and 3 pewter square brads. I hate that the scanner slightly distorts the image, but overall I'm pleased with the result! Thanks for looking!

Hello! Today I decided to surf the web looking for different challenge sites. I came across the Arty Girlz Challenge Blog http://artygirlzchallengeblog.blogspot.com/. This week they had a sketch as the challenge so here is my interpretation! I made a 5 1/2" card. I used some striped paper in citrus colors, certainly celery cardstock and rub ons from Stampin' Up and white cardstock and some buttons and brads as embellishments. I used the adorable stamp from a Stampin' Up set. The picture is showing that the ribbon edges are frayed worse than they actually are. I admit, not one of my best pieces of my work but I do like the colors! Thanks for stopping by!
